Star anise oil is obtained through steam distillation from star anise tree branches, leaves and fruit extracts. Star anise trees
bear fruit twice a year, that is, in the spring and autumn.
The main components of star anise oil are trans-anethole, anisaldehyde, 1,8-cineole, estragole, alpha-terpineol, linalool,
limonene, and alpha-phellandrene. Normally, the content of trans-anethole is in direct proportion to the freezing point.
